HOW WE STARTED

The first thing I would like to say is thank you. Thank you to anyone who has been here from the start, anyone who has been here for a short time, and anyone who is just joining! For those of you who don't know me, my name is Anna and I am the founder, designer, social media marketer, CFO, sewer, and anything else you can think of for MANN. I'll be honest, MANN was never something I dreamed about doing, but rather it kind of just happened. I was going to school for economics and applying for jobs in finance, but nothing happened. Meanwhile, I had taken up sewing as a hobby during the pandemic and making clothes for friends. Simultaneously, I started posting my creations to Depop where I gained a following and a loyal customer base. People actually liked what I was making! I think at this point I realized there are people out there who value sustainable and responsible fashion. People want clothes that are unique, one-of-a-kind, and maybe slightly imperfect. So when I wasn't finding a job in a field I thought I wanted to be in, I paved my own path down an industry I knew nothing about.
